I am always inspired by the place where I live – my home, the climate, the neighborhood, and my daily routines . I wondered how our recent move from the Berkeley Hills to  Oakland would affect my painting. It is a radical change from our previous  home, set back from the street with an unobstructed view of the Bay, to a loft in Jack London Square located in a diverse and vibrant neighborhood. I offer 10 paintings in a series inspired by the graffiti and murals and the sounds and activities around me in our new environs – and my meditation practice.
